Naivety certainly does not get you to nihilism, but it is something that will keep you there. Nihilism is a doorway. And a necessary one. But you stay there? Clutching it? You’re clutching at a doorway. Some people’s lives never get to that threshold while some people’s lives are spent on that threshold and some people’s lives were always meant to go through to the other side.
Often I feel like I am a thoroughly embedded alien in my own life. In this own body. Not the kind of alien looking down or into, but rather being both other and at the same time the very, exact same. One of many. On the level. Here is the the tension between the consciously disassociative and coherently integrated and that might be the hallmark of the human endeavor.
This is my celebration and validation of the complexity and diversity of lived experience; an ambition to observational eloquence.
