As an “editor who shoots,” Toddy Stewart plays a hybrid role in nearly every project on which he collaborates. He often sees projects from conception through delivery as a cinematographer, co-director, director, editor and some combination of these. His approach to filming interiors has largely been coupled with story, using the interior landscape as an essential character, while his sensibility as a filmmaker is shaped by the vision, organization and wisdom he’s gained through years of experience as an editor.
